Frozen Motion

Image
Before After Which is your best image and why? My best image is the basketball as it represents frozen time as the ball is caught in the net. Which is your least successful image and why? My least successful image is the one of Raymond jumping as the lighting was dull and had to be artificially created in photoshop. What is one thing you could have done better? I could've used a variety of angles to emphasize the subject's movement and actions. What would be your ideal action photography subject and why? My ideal action photography subject would be someone jumping towards the camera at a low angle as it emphasizes the subject and freezes them before impact.

Light Bulb Assignment

Why did you choose the extra element you chose? I chose to use a ship covered in rust as it suited the "water" theme being portrayed and matched the rust on the glass of the light bulb.

Artificial Motion/Blur

Image
Given Image Before After Image #2 Before After Does your image look real, why or why not.  The image looks realistic, but in actuality isn't. This is because it demonstrates motion by the blur of the surrounding area, which implies that the object is moving quickly. However, in reality, the blur would be reversed(with the moving object blurred and stationary environment in focus). What was difficult about this process? The difficult part of the process was adding adjustment layers to counteract the heavy effect of the blur.

Action Photography

Did Well: Captured a significant movement relative to the game. Could Improve: Move to a better angle(i.e. to the side) to capture the subject more clearly. Did Well: The player is clear in the image and shows some calm/slowed action. Could Improve: Take pictures of more vigorous action from the same perspective. Did Well: Captured the image of a subject jumping at the right time to appear as if he is suspended in the air. Could Improve: Take a picture from a different angle(i.e. in front or from the sand pit) to make the subject seem more prominent.
